Zimbamoto's music offers an exhilarating flavour of African music based on traditional and contemporary melodies and rhythms from Zimbabwe, and surrounding areas. We sing in the Shona language and play with modern Afrobeat sensibility.
Kurai has been an established world musician and music teacher since 1994. He has toured across Europe, West Africa, Southern Africa and Canada with artists such as Chiwoniso Maraire, Cesaria Evora and Vusi Mahlasela at internationally recognized concerts and festivals. He has played the mbira since childhood in his native Zimbabwe and is perhaps the best mbira/marimba player in Canada today.

A percussionist, composer, teacher, traveler and sometimes dancer, Curtis' ongoing journey has taken him from the villages of West Africa to the metropolises of South India. Based in Vancouver, he performs in a wide variety of musical styles has released his own album of original world jazz. He also has a philanthropic side and built a 3-room schoolblock in small village in Ghana and started an education development foundation to help further the education of the village’s children. |
Greg is a self-taught composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He plays in several world music, psychedelic, rock and experimental music projects in Vancouver, works a day job in public relations and is also the band's graphic designer. |

Navaro has devoted her life to studying the ancient wisdom of tribal cultures through rhythm and dance. In 1982, she began apprenticing with renowned teachers in North America and Africa. She has performed and taught drumming, chant, and dance for 30 years, in settings ranging from the corporate world to the world of community. The styles she plays range through West African, Brazilian Samba, Zimbabwean, and Modern. |
